This morning our DUM say's that RM & CWU have exhuasted talks through the IR framework
and there are 5 walks to be removed by the end of October by executive action!!
My confusion is if THEY can do this without care OR consultation with the local rep doesn't that make the union rather redundant as a force in the workplace???
Can RM just ignore the union and carry on like this???
WE all know if these walks go before we settle the national dispute they will not be put back, once there gone there gone, i'm just a bit bemused by this situation???
Can someone explain how the union can counteract executive action???
Cheers

they way I see this Executive action going is that if nothing comes of any talks between now and next week then I fear Unofficial Action which WILL bring things to an end for how long it takes its anyones guess. Whether its favourable to CWU, I doubt it, its never happened before has it and this is massive in comparison to whats gone before in my time with RM. ( Now the 70s had some good strikes ) :p

Re: Executive Action
If it is to do with geo-route then that process has already been agreed I am sure under a previous agreement. There still has to be a risk assessment carried out. If any staff are affected then under the MTSF they should be paid off. If they are long standing duties with officers with some seniority how do they intend to redeploy them. Get your Rep to instigate a disagreement.Delivery Donkey wrote:This morning our DUM say's that RM & CWU have exhuasted talks through the IR framework
