I started with royal mail last month from a courier job . My day off is tomorrow and have been asked by my old company to work a day for them! What do royal mail say about working 2 jobs ? I am on a 3 month temp contract need some answers ASAP !

The way i see it is the times we are in now we need the money and im willing to work for it for my family couldnt care less if Royal mail aint "happy" ! Just thought it said in the contract you are not allowed to work outside the post .

Well we delivery TNT mail and the like now while working for RM. However, they deem it as working for the opposition if we work for, for example, TNT on a day off. On that logic I would say f@ck them and work your day off for whoever you want.

Other thing is the area i would be delivering the morro i would defo meet at least one postie from my office! Can i get sacked for it ?

you have to declare any other employment to Royal Mail

Declare the driving hours and there is a list of other jobs we are not allowed to do

99% sure courier is on there

A few in my office got asked to do some ad hoc courier work and asked DOM and were told absolutely not

Exactly this. Royal Mail Group also doesn't like employees bad-mouthing it online...
