Has Sunday delivery started already?

Just had my Royal Mail contract delivered to my home this afternoon. I didn't see the deliverer but my daughter said it was a postman (someone in uniform)

Are some people working Sunday deliveries already?

No idea but it could be for christmas pressure overtime to clear parcel backlog. Just a shot in the dark

It came about 3.45pm this afternoon. I thought it odd as I don't start for another week so plenty of time for it to get here.

It had passed through the system as well. Had Royal Mail per printed stamp and the bar code thingy stuck on.

royal mail is only obliged under the uso to do a 6 days a week delivery

has it changed? because in the 70s we did deliveries on a sunday leading up to christmas

The USO is a minimum standard, if RM want to deliver on a Sunday then there's nothing to stop them, just as long as they deliver the other 6 days.
