1ST we had the " l/w trolleys are not slower than bag on the shoulder"
2ND we had "Delivering packets and parcels to neighbours is no slower than giving a 739 when out"
and yesterday at WTL we had ,
"standing still and sorting letters before you set off for your next house on delivery is no slower than sorting whilst you walk "
It makes you wonder if RM think we actually believe all this tosh
It makes sense that its safer to flick through the letters before you walk. However when you cut off with 2 bags of mail it wont make much sense to the dom.
Its once again the double standards used by RM. They should test each walk fully with all the H&S rules applied and then work out the total amount of calls which can be safely applied to each walk. But of course they would sooner sit on a PC and use Pegasus leaving the impossible task of getting the delivery done on time to the Postie. Who they will sack if he fooks up not following the correct H&S rules.

We had a lad in our office who is under the equality act due to a recent op on his ankle, when he told the Dom he would take longer to complete his walk due to a limp, the Dom said time was built in to allow for this
If you stopped for 5 seconds to flick through mail at every house for my 800 calls that is 4000 seconds , which works out at over 1 hour extra
Try telling that to the DOM

But by not doing it you're finishing 1 hour earlier than you should be.
Does it really take 5 seconds to check the mail for the next house though?
What's the name of the people who watch us do our walks? There's always a new list on the wall of stuff we're doing wrong. Reading while walking is always there without fail. It's almost a natural thing to do anyway.

Or in some peoples cases reading while RUNNING...true story!
On my round say of 2-3000 items of mail if i ewas to flick thru every letter and read address properly that would be about on average 10 thousand words
An average book is eighty thousand words so that would about 30 pages of a book i know this would take me about an hour nuff said ..
