Local Collect Procedure

Got contradictory advice today regarding the dropping off of a 'Local Collect' item at the P.O. The item was a tracked - 'no signature' with the local collect label added. Does the tracked label get scanned as delivered, even though it's to the P.O. or is the local collect label to be scanned and signed for by the P.O.?

What happens if there's a special delivery for local collect - surely you would scan the special barcode and get the signature from the P.O., but that means the customer hasn't signed for it? A bit confused!

There is a local collect option on the PDA delivered/not delivered screen.
You enter the name of the P.O. and if it requires a sig you get them to sign for it.

But if it was a special delivery with a local collect, the special would be left without signing? Still unsure how that would work. Does the local collect label - when scanned, overide the special delivery label?

I just scan the normal barcode,use the local collect option and get the counter staff to sign for it.

The local collect label should of had the barcode section removed from the rest of the label if the item going to the post office has a barcode to scan. This is what the 'do it' team told me

In case of " recorded ", " tracker " and " special " ... when these items come out of callers office for local collect ... local collect red labels have their bar code section removed ....
