Moved duty to different shift

One day next week I have been moved from my early shift delivery duty to a late shift collections duty. The start time is 6 hrs later. tbh I am not that fussed about it, but I am more annoyed that the DOM never bothered to ask me if this was ok. I understand we are supposed to be given 28 days notice of a forced change of hours - which this is because he didnt ask. What agreement/law does this notice period come from? Also since I have only been moved for one day it means I would only have 10 hrs between shifts which I don't think is allowed? :hmmmm

if its only for one day,then its 24 hours notice.
Not simply the day before.
I have used this many times when my DIMS decide to put me on a different shift(1.5 hours difference in start time)
As they always did it the morning before
