royal mail sickness policy.

just wondering if anyone felt the same. ive worked in royal mail for 20 years and been off an number of times because i suffered from servere migranine. the amount of time i have received 1 stage warning and 2 stage warning from the manager is unbelievable, i recently been told by a member of my collegues, that the manager were complaning to member of staff about me been off. even thought they have been told by atos about the servere conditions.

has other members had these problems from managers.

Royal Mail’s policy on sickness is like something from the dark ages compared to modern employers. Ive even read on here that managers are checking peoples Facebook pages following a days sickness.

They can have as many stages of warnings as they like it's all irrelevant anyway. They still have to abide by employment law not their own.

My advice is if you are ever off sick get a doctor's note. You are legally covered. :D

always make sure you get your atos referal reports sent to you at home.

i wasnt clued up on this and my dom took advantage resulting in him , the dismissing and appeals manager to sack me for wilfull delay.(the dismissing and appeals manager said they asked atos for my reports too )
had i had them ALL sent rather than him handing them to me he couldnt of sacked me.

they tried to introduce an untold charge in the result of the appeal which is what helped me get them on all three of the criteria of the tribunal which also gave me a unanimous verdict 3-0!!!!

so remember do not give them an opportunity.
tell all members who are reffered to atos to request all reports which are sent to the dom to be sent to them at home too.

when it comes to sickness the company or the union dont give a f**k about us , in my case i have been issued with 2x 1st stage warnings aft A.O.D. even though in 1 case royal mail addmitted it their fault and payed compo my line manager decided that i could of returned to work earlier than i did even though my doctor atos and my phisio said i was unfit to work he decided i was as for the stage warnings i have wrote to the union many time about this practice and have not even had a reply dave ward and billy hayes should hang their heads in shame while the members are being f****d left right and centre they sit back and do f**K all about it as jeromy kyle would say time they grew a pair.
