P & L & How do we get to work?

We have another office moving into ours in September so we were told today as the park and loop begins that month as well, its a small yard for all the vans, question - do we take the vans home or leave them at the office plus we have no bikes so how do we get to work as I rely on my bike.

You might be able to take vans home overnight if there is insufficient parking space in the yard.
Depends on several factors.
Buy a bike through the cycle 2 work scheme.

That's another thing I hear the office moving in with us is up for a £1,000 for disruption and our office is getting naff all, has this happened any other offices around the UK?

We are getting disrupted weather we move or not the other office are using our facilities and the car owners have been told park elsewhere in September not in the yard the office is far to small for moving in a another office into it, well there will be plenty of accidents let me tell you.

Maybe a bit hostile but suggesting compensation for accomodating a smaller office is a somewhat ridiculous suggestion.

We have had this problem with parking since we went over to P/L.
We have a 40 car carpark and when we had 30 new shared vans turned up we had only 10 spaces for postmen to park their own vehicles and for customers to park theirs as well. As we are on an Industrial Estate out of town people were using other businesses parking spaces which caused major problems and RM got into problems with it with complaints.
So now its a free for all and people coming in saying "can you move your van I cant get out" " can you move your car the mail van can't get in" its an absolute nightmare.

Problem at ours is with 1 dom , 1 ds, 2 others dont know what they do , 6 sector lm's, 1 underdom, 4 in the rle and 3 on the calling counter, all having cars - all the spare spaces are gone but of course the car park is empty at 1pm as soon as the flyers start returning , when all our cars are on meters or car parks further away.

Hostile - maybe - however his answer is accurate - any offices that are moving, or merging with another, get a payment/allowance to cover the extra mileage incurred because of the move - but only for 3 years. IIRC the allowance is worked out on a basis of distance from home to new office, less the distance from home to the old office. So if the old office is 10 miles away and the new office is 12 then the allowance is based on 2 miles.

They used the AA route planner to work this out in my office and you can be a winner or a loser depending on which way they enter the postcodes due to one way systems.

Like everything in life the devil is in the detail i.e. if your new office is nearer than the old one but much harder to get to i.e. they locate it on an out of town industrial estate or if people move house to somewhere further is there a time dimension to this (stops people moving for increased payment they moving back once they've got it)

My office is moving in the very near future. I will live closer to the new location so I will get £150 payout for the inconvienence.

It isn't another office ossie you'll be the same office and the facilities are RMs - why are they moving in and how far are they moving from and how many does it mean are moving in? As for the bike - it actually belongs to RM.
