Could you expand - what P40 form - despite a google search for the term I can't any tax forms with that number and I am not sure what else RM would want, never mind need, to check.

It says more about his job than ours.
What he can't do is apply any results of this bogus unagreed pile of nonsense...to anything so you would have to question why a manager would do it?
Using an unagreed,pointless test just for the hell of it seems like harassment to me.
