4 day weeks for rural deliveries

has anyone got any info on the new 4 day weeks being proposed for the rurals? we have been told that some offices allready operate this system and was just wondering how your days off works and things like that
any help would be really usefull guys

Hi wakkono we do a 4 day in my office but we are a town (south London).Its a 10 hour day 5.30- 15.30 with a rotating r/day
week 1 mon-tues off
week 2 wed-thurs off
week 3 fri-sat off
Its a long day on paper but its the best thing weve ever done IMHO
Ask me again though if flexable workings come in.

We`ve been doing 4 day weeks for about 6 years now, works really
well. I`m a floater so i do 1 rural village Mon, Tues have every wed and thurs off
and another rural Fri, Sat. Currently 05.00-15.00 weekdays and 14.30.on a sat.

So when we have a 50 hour week you will have to work a 12.5 hour day!!!!

I thought you couldn't be made to work more than 48 hours per week under the European Working Time Directive,
unless you voluntarily sign an opt out?

IT WAS KICKED IN THE PANTS ONCE, 4 DAY WEEKS, AND THEY WERE GOING TO WITHDRAW ALL.
BUT WITH THIS NEW AGREEMENT ITS RAISED ITS UGLY HEAD AGAIN.
IM TOTALLY AGAINST EM ANYWAY

think they mean an average of 48 hrs per week so if we only do 30 one week then 50 next week our average will be 40 i think thats how it works could be wrong though :lfo :cfo

at the mo me old turnip head euro laws state that 48 hrs max unless u have the opt out but our all seeing leader gordon brown may sign this new european treaty without a referendem which will mean we can only work 35 hrs a week. thats 35 hrs a week no more and no average over a set time. its there way 2 get rid of unemployment which is rife in france and germany. by the way baldrick good to see ya. have you seen darling yet ??
