park & loop revision SATURDAY ?

starting our dreaded park and loop beginning july,new duty routes up next week good chance of me moving up 3 hours to full time,what i want to know is if you are on park and loop now and are full time what is your finishing time on a saturday,dont really fancy finishing around 1400-14.30 hrs,the weekend is short enough as it is.surely management can tweak hrs so you finish a bit early on a saturday.

13.30 finish on a Saturday at my office though I know a lot of other offices are later.

your finishing time will be dependant on when you get your second wave of mail and that depends (along with other factors)on where you are in the walk sequenced mail queue at your Mail Centre blah blah blah... there is room for negotiating but you really need an area rep who will fight your corner...but if you still have early morning pick ups then they will def want rid of them and thats a reason why even if you can prove an early start is possible that they still wont budge on that score..well not in my area

Mail was quiet today so 1:30 for most of us (12:30 i believe all the doms went home), but some got their last mech box after 8:30 so the routine is a normal day unless you have less bulks or businesses to go to and have done all your d2d's during the week. , is there a smiley for it stinks?

The way that most MPUs process/despatch their sequenced mail is farthest (satellite unit) 1st then the next furthest etc etc back to the DO at the MPU itself (if it isn't a Mail Centre) which is usually last. There is some room for manoeuvre (firms batches at MPU can be advanced if possible in the workplan) but much depends on the distribution plan.

One area that can help advance finish times is the Wave 1/2 mix which was originally targetted for 60/40. Now some MPUs achieve more of a 70/30 which means more work arriving on Wave 1.
