P and L coming soon

Hi folks

Weve got P&L coming soon, and just wondering how this is likely to affect contracts? Our Office has 60odd staff, half on 40 hrs, the other half on 32/25........with 3 and a half hour walks which apparently will increase to 4 hours 15?

Interested in this too. Never really bothered about it but seems inevitable, even though there has been no talk about it at all in my office. Could be implemented in various ways, some have said an increase in daily hours for 25 hour contracts but reduced days eg 4 x 6.25 hours.

at the min everyone is on a 5 day week 8 x 5, 6 1/2 x 5 or 5 x 5.............i will be amazed if they get this to work!

We got more full time duties out of our revision we had a full resign aswell and we have a good mix of duty shifts 3,4 and 5 day weeks some with fixed days off others rotating we also have 9 day fortnights and 5 full 6 day weeks and 6th week off

If there are lower hours so called part-time contract people used to working much more like a 40 hour week they will be hit the hardest as after the honeymoon is over bosses try and start to use them as purely delivery boys/girls, although once again the service comes last and no allowances are made for an obvious creep up of hours due to the nature of P & L in comparison to previous.

Yes thats the worry as most of the 25 hour lot do 40+ hours.......ah well

We started P&L on Monday we have yet to complete within our time and the Managers and planners are starting their bullying and intimidating tactics, We threatened to cut off today and were told oh leave 2 of the loops, then we were told take out all your large packets and tracked items, then told we've saved you an hour take the loops 4:00 are you having a laugh. Loops are way to big and it's all just numbers to planners they have no geographical knowledge of the terrain on walks etc.

Sounds like something to look forward to then!!! There are plenty of people who either cant drive or refuse to drive so who knows whats going to happen?

some of the planning was simply rediculous .
We had walking loops that went through 6ft garden walls that weren't on their plans , we had driving routes through roads blocked off by bollards that were put in 3 years earlier and having to take a mile detour to deliver packets.
When you tell the planners they just look at the computer and say "Are you sure"
My round was worked out on large 20 packets that can't go through the letterbox , wednesdays and thursdays we have about 120.
They wont test the round , bully you into not cutting off and frown when you take meal relief

What sort of size loops are being made up? Thought they were meant to be set at around 25-30 mins each loop. How long are your delivery spans?

We barely had any planning. Just told as of Monday you will be using a HTC on your duty...now they are questioning why we cannot complete on time. The overtime has gone through the roof and the Dom is starting to get a squeeky bum with pressure from those above him. Lets see who cracks first!!!!!

Do everything properly...

Use the trolleys, come in on time, take your entitled breaks.

It has not taken long for victory in my office. I am financially much better off than before, yes i am working a bit longer but for an extra £150 a week i don't mind that much :)
