Quality, get on dragons den with that, secondary use for RM weekly WTLL sessions.. will aid in the reduction of slips, trips and falls by postman coming into contact with the sh*t the management churn out... for our manager i believe we're gonna need to buy those disposable bags in bulk

typical planner, put in a totally cock-up of a revision, but don't stick around to see if it works just go to the next office to balls that up as well

Just had to check the date of the thread, thought it was an April fool We will need a tent, and somewhere to dispose of the bags, don't want the van stinking, that would be a health and safety issue. The toliets stink enough

If your input is continually ignored because it doesn't fit in with the (savings) agenda of the higher managers then it is understandable the average postie becomes disconnected and disenchanted with the whole revision process.
I'm on my third planner. They all began with a speech about how they were on the side of the delivery postie, how the revision wasn't savings driven and how they didn't care if it upset the DSM but......

I got involved with the last revision at my office by giving the planner all the right info about terrain, flat categorisation etc.. After he had put all the correct info into the system the walks came out pretty accurate,I know what you're saying about savings but I've found that the planner has nothing to do with that and that they are there just to do the input into the systems (all the technical stuff) I cant speak for anyone else but the planner that did our revision was ok. He was honest and told us everything that was going on even stuff he knew we weren't going to like. I think its the senior managers that have the savings agendas not the planners.

One of the many planners who f**ked up my office comes in almost every Saturday to do docket and some Sundays when we're really in the s**t. Luckily we've now had loads of part time staff join. Some walks have 4 loops taken off them that proves how much the planners f****d up and that was everyone putting the terrain/flats etc into the computer. Even with some loops taken off each walk a lot still arn't completing. So MT your theory is wrong

Although i would always encourage members to try to get involved in the revision process the idea that a lack of staff involvement means that those members do not have the right to turn up to work to a reasonable,stable and manageable workload is nonsense.
Planners are paid to plan,managers are paid to manage and posties are paid to deliver the mail.
Staff involvement should ensure that the fine detail is right,streets run properly,overheads are correct and A+ is up to date but the overall responsibility for creating a working resource model for the office lies with management and planners.
