Easter Saturday
Hi, For last few weeks we have had a part time postman on loan from a nearby office. He has been donig the same duty and has a rotating day off. Next week it falls on Easter Saturday, great an extra long weekend. No chance, he has been told he has to work Saturday and have a different day off, yes youv'e guessed it Good friday! the reason apparently, as he's part time they can change his day off to whenever they like. Is this right? can they do this? I know he'll get a day in lieu but thats not the point he wants his proper day off.

If he's a reserve,they can put him on which ever duty they like (within reason obv),not sure about changing the day off of a specific walk though.

our DIM asks if he can change our day off for the following week, once he told me that he has to change my day off and I told him that I would not allow him to.
I do have my own duty though but you should take the day off that is rotored for the week you are on.

if he has signed to the duty, then not without the holders consent

Although the manager may use this phrase "operational needs" . I've had managers use against me in the past.
