Manager txt's at night about tomorrow's duty

Part time postie:On a full time duty tomorrow manager txt @ 7 o'clock tonight to tell me to start @ 8 because he will get someone to put it down!!

Should he be contacting you out of work hours( Royal Mail is not my life!!!)

And is this to short notice to change my duty.

Got a good mind to go in for the original duty.and say i did not get the txt!!

Don't give them your number or switch your phones sim card and don't tell them the new one...........it's what I did :Very Happy If they want to contact me then they need to send me a letter :chuckle :chuckle :chuckle

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

I'd like to know if its wrong - it certainly feels like an abuse of your flexibility.

I'v have had messages left on phone by manager to the effect that youre sacked for not doing such an such come in and we'll have the meeting, one sleepless night later gone in to find the manager claimed it was a mistake and to take no notice.

short notice at our DO is getting switched after all prep including redirects. Which happens weekly on average.

If they don't speak to me on the day,then they can speak to me about the next day

Does RM still pay disturbance allowance? Seem to remember it a few years back but not sure if its been finished with in a new agreement.

you think the night before i had a txt a 7:10 am this morning from lino asking to come in a 8:00 good i wasnt going in for 7:00am i would have been in the office.

The flexibility agreement states that:- This is not about not knowing what duty you are on from one day to the next. Quote this when you go in.

not much of a mobile if the battery keeps going flat and only works properly after an accident with a brick wall :evil/mad :whistle
