The CWU and me...

1. I joined, as a member, the CWU very quickly into my Royal Mail employment.

2. A short while after that I became an activist within the CWU - I put my name forward and was accepted by both the CWU and the membership at my Unit level. I put my name forward for three reasons, the same three reasons continue after being a CWU Rep for 2+ years:

1. I care about people
2. I do not like to see people upset
3. I do not like to see people treated unfairly

3. Shortly I will reach the deadline to put my name forward to stand again for the CWU postion I hold now. I know I have always tried my best and always given everyone I have tried to support/help, my personal 100%. I will continue to do that with my last Royal Mail breath and if that costs me personally, then I will accept that, willingly.

4. If you understand what I desperately try to make you understand then you are not only an EMPLOYEE of Royal Mail BUT, and much more importantly, you are a person that has no MORE nor LESS value on this planet than ANY other person that HAPPENS to work for Royal Mail. Including (gosh, with absolute respect) YOUR Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Indeed, unless they contest, the whole of the Board of Governers of Royal Mail.
