Part time contract wording - rotating days

Does anyone have the exact wording of the part time contract where it details the rotating day off? Am I contractually entitled to rotating days and every sixth sat off?

Also interested, i'm normally just given whatever day off is on the rota for the walk i'm covering (allegedly). Oddly enough there are an inordinate amount of mondays and tuesdays and NO saturdays.

although it is not in contracts it is normally in the job description when they advertise vacancies. I have no idea if this is binding or not though.

For example i took this from some random listing for "Postman/woman with driving":

Hours of work:
Part time, 30 hours per week (between 8:00 - 14:00, 5 days across Monday to Saturday with a rotating day off)

So if they are advertising the job as coming with a rotating day off then it could be argued that this is what employees are entitled to....

Your thinking is similar to mine phil, I just don't have my contract to understand fully. I doubt I could argue on a job description, no matter what uk employment law might say. But a contract might be another matter.

Your contract is constantly changing through collective agreement anyway.
Some offices work a fixed day off,some 4 day weeks,9 day fortnight etc.
The only agreement that mentioned 1in6 was SDD in 2003 when we moved to a 5 day week.
All it said was...
h) Five day working may include the options of a rotating day off with a long weekend (Saturday - Monday) every 6 weeks,

The BT2010 agreement states...
Royal Mail and CWU commit to achieving at least 1 in 4 Saturdays off for the majority of employees (including reserves) during the roll out of the operational transformation programme.

It's still rolling....and what does majority mean?...and who decides?

Without being too descriptive for anonymities sake, I'm trying to work out the difference between being flexible and being f****d up the arse. If the latter well then, I might like to know how I got myself into that position.

i havent been given a sat off since october 2010 and even then they managed to twist my arm in to working my day off, since then i normally get mon, tue or wed off depending on what i'm covering
