% of work in overtime.
is there a national agreement which states an amount of work which should be done in o/t for earnings potential? i was under the impression it was 10% but haven't seen anything in black and white.

Shouldn't be planning any OT, the whole office should be planned to be fully covered.

Re: % of work in overtime.
I still don't understand why you should have OT being planned at all. Maybe you should look at removing all the OT and only having the duties and ignoring your 10% ot.silly suffolk wrote:were taking out o/t instead of dutys, but as i said im mandated to 10% locallyDGP1 wrote:Shouldn't be planning any OT, the whole office should be planned to be fully covered.

i know where your coming from, but i don't think management will convert all s/a into new duties for full timers or a/gs. a lot of individuals earn big money and it will be a gradual process to make the workplace fairerDGP1 wrote:I still don't understand why you should have OT being planned at all. slight difference here for you, OT is different from SA, SA can still be planned for the revision but you should not be planning for any instances of having OT after the revision as that defeats the pointsilly suffolk wrote:i know where your coming from, but i don't think management will convert all s/a into new duties for full timers or a/gs. a lot of individuals earn big money and it will be a gradual process to make the workplace fairerDGP1 wrote:I still don't understand why you should have OT being planned at all. He never said it was SA and even then I don't think it should be there, give someone a job to do it.zx135 wrote:slight difference here for you, OT is different from SA, SA can still be planned for the revision but you should not be planning for any instances of having OT after the revision as that defeats the pointsilly suffolk wrote:i know where your coming from, but i don't think management will convert all s/a into new duties for full timers or a/gs. a lot of individuals earn big money and it will be a gradual process to make the workplace fairerDGP1 wrote:I still don't understand why you should have OT being planned at all. Re: % of work in overtime.
yes he did, i agree that all SA should be converted in hours for part timers who want it, but was just pointing out its not OT he is argueing for its actually SADGP1 wrote:He never said it was SA and even then I don't think it should be there, give someone a job to do it.zx135 wrote:slight difference here for you, OT is different from SA, SA can still be planned for the revision but you should not be planning for any instances of having OT after the revision as that defeats the pointsilly suffolk wrote:i know where your coming from, but i don't think management will convert all s/a into new duties for full timers or a/gs. a lot of individuals earn big money and it will be a gradual process to make the workplace fairerDGP1 wrote:I still don't understand why you should have OT being planned at all. Re: % of work in overtime.
thanks for your interest, yes it is s/a i propose to chop instead of dutys, ive argued for a/gs to have increased hours on their contracts, management always pretty opposed to this but early days yet, trouble is o/t is always cheap for an employer. i wish our union would grasp this nettle, so much s/a in times of high unemployment, plus our work colleagues on piss poor small contracts is just plain wrong.zx135 wrote:yes he did, i agree that all SA should be converted in hours for part timers who want it, but was just pointing out its not OT he is argueing for its actually SADGP1 wrote:He never said it was SA and even then I don't think it should be there, give someone a job to do it.zx135 wrote:slight difference here for you, OT is different from SA, SA can still be planned for the revision but you should not be planning for any instances of having OT after the revision as that defeats the pointsilly suffolk wrote:i know where your coming from, but i don't think management will convert all s/a into new duties for full timers or a/gs. a lot of individuals earn big money and it will be a gradual process to make the workplace fairerDGP1 wrote:I still don't understand why you should have OT being planned at all.
