Dear Colleagues

Linda Hancock - CWU National Honorary Member and Ex Vice President of the CWU

Sadly we have been advised that Linda passed away last Friday after a short illness. We were all saddened to hear this terrible news, particularly as her death was so untimely.

Linda has been a member of the UCW/CWU since she joined the Union in 1969 and held various positions within the Scotland No. 2 Branch since 1971. She was elected as Chair of OOACC in June 2002 and became Vice Chair of the T&FSE in 2001 and Vice President of the Union in 2002. Linda attended many annual conferences over the years and was a delegate to the Scottish Trade Union Congress.

There is no doubt that Linda's contribution to the affairs of the Union will long be remembered.

Details of the funeral arrangements are as follows:

The service will be followed by a reception at the Victoria Hotel, 28 Victoria Road, Kirkcaldy, KY1 1DS. The Branch have arranged for a coach from the Crematorium to transport those who wish to attend the reception.
