We were asked today at our weekly 'Early Learning' meeting that we have been given forms to fill in on P/L by us drivers .
To show by timing ourselves how long we take delivering packets on each loop, the addresses ,the number of packets etc after we have done our letters, how long it takes from the end of the drivers loop to get to the walker. How long it takes to deliver to schools etc.
Whats this all about as firstly its the quietest time of the year for packets which is going to give it a false reading and everyday is different anyway.
Secondly what is the point of Georoute if they are asking the drivers how long its taking to deliver packets?
At the moment they only allow 5 minutes a loop which is laughable.
Also we have heard they are timing all the walks starting next week , that will be fun because most are going over on P/L with cutting corners. With doing the job properly and to the book most rounds will be well over

It's essential that everyone does the job properly then, wouldn't you agree?
They have to base the duty spans on lowish traffic weeks, if they based it on highish traffic weeks you'd be completing early every day, thus having the free time to absorb every day, this way you are up to your time every day but with no absorbing, which is what they want, then you have all the fun of arguing why you can't complete later in the year when it's heavy.............
It's actually better for us the way it's being done, you just need the confidence to 'argue' with the managers later in the year, but you'll have the argument that the spans were created on light traffic weeks, works very well when you think about it

Ignore it,no day/week is the same, sounds bollox to me,the computer says what it says,f**k em.
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
