Docket with P/L

We have quite a few who haven't done the driving course because they didnt want to as its optional , but cant do O/T because they can't get out to the rounds.
Drivers cutting off means the walker has to cut off because where does the walker put his bags and his drivers cut off and how does he get back to the office?
Why is it that if you want to do docket you have to pass the driving course.

The driving course is to see whether your competent and safe enough to be on the roads,its a very basis test.

I hear your frustration so the lads who want docket can they drive but have refused to if so theres no arguing point really.

But there should be a system in place to accelerate those that want docket down to said walks get your rep on it.

This is P/L for you why the members couldnt see it coming is beyond me as this is the by far the worst agreement ever reached and excepted by the members.

It was accepted by some not all of the members.... many of whom aren't even on deliveries!

To be honest park&loop was never really up for discussion.
That is one thing that was coming with or without an agreement.
The agreement was supposed to provide safeguards so we wouldn't get screwed over by it.
Again to be perfectly honest in most cases it's the members who are doing a bit of self-screwing.
Should the union have saw that coming and can it affectively protect members from themselves are the big questions.

I also think the lack of relevant,up to date experience of the delivery side of the job from both parties is evident right through this agreement.
If you really know this job as it is now...not how it was in "19..whatever" you can easily see where Royal Mail's vision falls on it's arse and where the flaws in park&loop are.
It probably seemed like a good idea to someone used to one or two attendance calls a day and a 2.30 max delivery.
I think i even had time to whistle in those days.
