with youth unemployment going through the roof i hark back to the days when there was an annual arrival of cadets who invariably stayed with rm for quite a few years. it would be nice to see national union figures pushing for the firm to employ more youngsters. it seems immoral that there is still so much docket about in the world we live in now.

i was always told to be proud to be a postman, and not consider the job unimportant and menial. and in comparison to a lot of firms the pay and conditions are good. it would be interesting to see how many applicants rm would get if they advertised for postal cadets.

your right there mate.i started as a cadet over 30 years ago with 4 others and all bar one are still here.
times were different then and all i wanted to do was earn a wage and gain my independence but thanks to progressively bad governments over the years a lot of young people think that the world owes them a living and generally can't be bothered to work.

employers certainly dont want spoilt arrogant brats as employees.

There is media story in the paper that there is no job for young people because all the foreign people taken the jobs. Not sure which paper.
