Another broken post bike!

This happened to my work mate last week. He went up the kerb and his handle bar snapped off :shock: He came off the bike but wasnt injured badly. First time in nearly 15 years ive ever seen this happen, anyone else had it happen to them?

I don't know how old that Mailstar is, but I suspect that the handlebars haven't been renewed as per the time spec.

Saying that, you really shouldn't bump up or down kerbs on it! :no no

i have seen it many times being a cycle mechanic. handlebars should be replaced after tree and half years max in reality about 2 years. but should not be bumping up and downs kerbs on cycles anyway

what is a post bike??? we used to have about 30 but theyve all gone. A few guys wanted to buy them for personal use but were told No! and anyone seen with one will be sacked.

Still all use bikes at my office, no idea if/when it will all go to trolleys.
Why would anyone want to buy a post bike :shock: in my opinion they are the worst bikes ive ever ridden!

Happened in my DO in November 2008 with a Pashley Mailstar bicycle.
