Been off on the sick for 2 months now with a potentially life threatening illness. Returning back a week on Monday. In this time I've been contacted 4 times, (3 by LM, 1 by ATOS). One was the return call the 1st day of illness. 2nd was to ask if they can refer me to ATOS. To be honest i was expecting a few phone calls a week putting the pressure on to get me back in, really surprised. The other thing that has surprised me is the attitude to my "rehab" plan. It was along the lines of, you'll be doing indoor work for the 1st few weeks, if at anytime you feel unwell get yourself home, and if i feel i cant come in they can work my days off around me, i have no fixed hours of attendance! To me it seems managers like this are a dying breed, its going to make the return to the place a whole lot easier.

Don't want to burst your bubble but wait and see if you need to go home before you sing thier praises.

On paper they have to sound sympathetic and understanding. When it comes down to it, they are more likely to say they can't let you go home due to operational needs, etc!

If that was the case, i'd be striaght out the door and back on the sick.

Well this is only how it should be..... But it is very good to know that this fair treatment does exist and should be aplauded

I was going to say the same thing. I think madmartin has not read the post in context with the other posts by lenat, and has responded accordingly.

How is that? So I take it you believe it's right for someone who may have potentially died from an unknown medical condition to have their rehab plan broken due to ensure a walk is covered? And do you seriously think it would be unreasonable of me to go back on the sick due to this. Do one, what are you a DOM?
