IWT...is there an official statement yet?

I've read a couple of the posts on here regarding the indoor workload tool, and there still doesn't seem to be an official CWU statement on its mis-use as an individual performance tool. I could really use an official document from CWU regarding it's use as I've got a greivance case coming up and need some ammunition.

Have there been any LTB's on it?

I've read the snippets from bob gibson's letter, has anyone got a copy of this? would a manager take this seriously if i pulled it out at the meeting?

cheers postman, just what i need. so do you think if I print off the info from this site in the link it will be an acceptable bit of evidence to wave in managers face?

Ideally I'd like an offical letter sent to every member's home on this subject, and on overtime being voluntary (appendix 3 of conduct code), can't see why they won't do it.

I don't think they'll accept a printout of the post as acceptable evidence, you'd need something official from the CWU. But now we know what was in those Emails, we know what to ask for. I suggest you contact your Branch, and ask for something official (letter, email, etc.) about it, which you COULD wave in the Manager's face.

You're right about the need for people to be informed that overtime is voluntary, except for S/A, which you can opt out of, with a months notice. But having said that: there are Managers who're threatening to change people's duties if they refuse to do S/A. For example, the Postie who's recently been threatened with a rotating day off, despite currently being on a Monday to Friday! So much for Family Friendly hours!

Thanks andy. I've tried cutting and pasting the main bits from the forum and printing it in MS word, it looks slightly more official without the ads and stuff, but i know what you're saying. I'll try to get something official from my branch....or even the national branch would be nice...

Our manager has started telling people that "it`s in your contract to do overtime".
