Do RM have to follow procedure as set out in conduct code?
I recently recieved a severe warning which is to remain on record for two years, on a appeal it was reduced to only one year. The manager who dealt with the appeal came to the office a few days ago to tell me his decision. I returned to the office with some undelivered mail, didn't want to work past my time etc.. RM say I didn't follow correct procedure. I pointed out to appeals manager that conduct code says that my appeal should have been heard within two weeks of me lodging appeal, my appeal was heard two months after. I mentioned that RM conduct code says that I should recieve answer to my appeal within 5 days of appeal, I recieved an answer 3 months after appeal. Therefore RM have not followed procedure, appeals manager made some excuse and shrugged it off. Local rep doesn't seem bothered. Can RM discipline me for not following procedure but in the process not follow procedure themselves? If I let them get away with this they will do it again and again.

So long as the Appeals Manager informs you that the process will take longer than normally allocated you won't have a leg to stand on.
If he/she hasn't then, if you are up for it you could try and take them to an Employment Tribunal, but that is a long shot.
A complaint to Appeals Manager's Manager!!!!!! should clarify any "problems"
