Revision Starts Tommorow

Post by thevardinator »

Half the office had the revision a few months back, now the other side (my side) is having the revision.

Starts Monday, it's going to be shambles. Rounds are bigger, trolleys will slow us down and hardly any time to prep.

The only reason the other part of the office is not failing at the minute is staff coming in early and not using the trolleys. If everybody did the job properly the office would be in meltdown.

I sometimes wonder if this country really isn't one gigantic loonybin, with most of my fellow citizens being it's inmates.

I ,sometimes, find the stupidity of my colleagues within Royal Mail stupendous .

They find themselves on rounds that they cannot complete so they come in early, not sometimes ,but all the bloody time .

They also do not take their breaks and will take overloaded bikes out just to complete a few minutes early or even on time and then come wingeing to me because the DOM has asked them to take part of another round out as they have been getting back so early.

I will tell them to do the job properly ,come in on time, take their mealbreak and not run and jump over walls etc and they all ignore me and carry on destroying their own jobs...fools.

Just make sure you use your trolleys, dont cut the job up to make the walks look easy. Using a trolley is also not a choice

It's the same all over the country. Ours came in about six weeks ago, and it was failing drastically until all the tools started coming in early and using bags on their shoulders. Christ knows what time the morons will be coming in at when Autumn pressure starts.

We all started our revision with talks of doing the job correctly and cutting off if there is not enough time etc. Within the first week they were back to using cars and running around to finish by midday. :d'oh!

One postie has a round which is the nearest to the office but still only uses his trolley for the first half and then transfers to his car to do a road with is just 30 yards from the office door, i kid you not

I have stuck with the trolley and RM bike for a hilly part of my walk and an average day takes me 4hrs +. There are only about 5-6 of use doing it properly and using RM equipment and they wonder why they have brought back summer time absorbtion. :no no
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

Did a round on it today, shared van. Not as bad as I thought it would be, but then again it was a very light Monday.

Used the trolley for the first part, 2 bags. Took an hour and a half. Not too much of a problem other than drastically slowing me down.

Used just a bag later in the round for just 1 bundle and packet. Would be pointless and silly using the trolley in that situation. All I was carrying was the packet as I had the bundle under my arm.

so when you fall over and they say why did you have the pouch on your shoulder what will you say? becuase the union wont be able to represent you if they have given you a trolley.

When will people realise? We ALL agree carrying a pouch is easier (up to certain KG) and faster but while RM officially say use a trolley AND provide you with one why would you do anything other?

It was only for about 20 houses, if that at the end of the round (not right I know, now), it's not like I walked near enough the entire round without a trolley like most of the office are/have been getting away with for months.

It's a discussion for another day but the trolleys are probably just as dangerous as pouches, (if not more dangerous when you bring security into it), given that I nearly tripped over it about a dozen times! But I suppose rules are rules, as stupid as these trolleys are in my opinion, I'll use them as advised.

Vard, get pulled for not using a trolley for 20 houses, get pulled for not using a trolley for 200 houses, the punishment is exactly the same.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
