Travelling expenses - an explanation please

Hello. Could anyone please let me know the difference between a claim for expenses incurred by car travel, and that by motorbike. I understood the system worked on a fuel type/mileage equation, notwithstanding the choice of vehicle, e.g. car, van, motorbike etc. If such a structure is in place, can I claim more for the unquenchable thirst of my cash-bought Ferrari?
