Is walk sequencing working well???

Post by mclovin »

Due to go live 28 July round our way.

Very little need for primary sorting we've been told, is this the case?

Someone's pulling your plonker.

We've had walk sequencing for coming up to 2 years soon. Basically, your mech will arrive walk-sequenced, that's all!

No less IPS than before, whatever yarn they spin you.

I am only talking from experience but in my office the sorting takes longer and on the last batch there are many more missorts than there used to be. It saves time on the frame but again in my experience it adds to the primary.

Does the introduction of walk sequenced mail put an end to buddy trays? :pray

It's not often i disagree with you teebs but WS has cut our primary sorting down considerably.
Of course this just means that more people are robbed from IPS to prep part-time shifts so you don't actually get off any quicker.

Don't get me started on buddy flat trays though....
Edit Clash...Do you mean flats?

No - letters. I want someone to promise me that all the mech, including the buddy trays, will come sequenced.

Don't tell me there is such a thing as buddy flat trays. I might just slit my wrists.

We started receiving walk-sequencing mail on the 1st June, get about 2-3 trays and a lot more to sort on IPS. Were told we would get our £600 4 weeks later, now we're told we've got to save 55 hours indoor work. What a load of bollox.

buddy letters. :left:
WTF is that about. :whistle
We get about 3 or 4 buddy flat trays per P&L pair.
Sometimes there are 3 or 4 walks per tray. :chuckle

It is about screwing hours out of the IPS.
It is about screwing with my head.
I really cannot take much more. :arrrghhh

Buddy trays reduce the amount of sort plans required on the machines, allowing for a higher percentage of sortation on fewer passes.
