At my interview I was asked if there was any time I was unavailable to work for royal mail. I gave him a few holiday dates i have booked and he wrote them down on this form which was due to be sent back to HR or somewhere.
I'm guessing that time off will be honoured? he didnt say it was a problem. just wrote them down and said ok. just dont want to be having a huge issue a month into my start.

At my place new starters pre-booked holidays are always honoured.

Others have asked for X time to be told 'no way full up' new starter has just been given it despite taking us over the allocation.

Yes - They should be been advised by HR/Recruitment but mention it in the first few days, and if you can when you meet the manager who is responsible for you.
