What Would You Do ?

Post by dark diamond1 »

Having had the revision team in for the last 3 month, our manager yesterday asks us, if we would postpone the revision and take an extra 15 mins a day workload, which would put us up to 4 hours on delivery.

To get the 15 mins each added on, this requires taking workload of the 2 drivers we have.

Now, would you take this as it would mean, 15 mins extra on your walk, still box up PT walks, still lapse and NO resign ! ? or would you go through with the revision and have a resign and of course get the payments we are due?

Only asking as I have been doing this for 33 years and know exactly what I would do, however would love to hear other colleagues thoughts.

I take it the poor guy has lost his bottle.... :chuckle
Damm shame...you know exactly what to do and i would do the same.
Tell him you'll postpone the revision if he takes 15mins off the deliveries.
See how desperate he is.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

Personally I'd go for the revision, it's obviously a disaster in the offing, we ended up with 18 (net) new starters after 3 months of really really struggling and the resign is worth its weight in gold................all those vacant duties that have been taken by new starters and held by default because they have never been advertised are filled by those who deserve them generally.

Could someone please advise me thanks !
i have been on a late turn (delivery and collection ) for 8years now , the duty is like the new hybrids where you have a full delivery with a collection that used to be on SA attendance built in . the revision has now hit phase two and soon i stand to lose my duty and await the full office resign - what i would like to know is when i took job they told me my saturday off would be protected as my day off and now it seems to be going , but there is still going to be about 5 people that will keep there saturdays off ?? is this correct ?? and also do the royal mail have to give me notice that they intend to do this - if so how many days ?? the revision has made walks bigger and out delivering longer along obviously with different changes of times/days - i feel the job is crazy now and for me its took ages to get a decent duty and now it looks like being joined up with a van share duty and therefore going ! advice much appreciated thanks!

Lol, in our office they set about doing the revision, once the walks were sorted on the super-computer they realised savings were about nil, so have put it off for the time being so other offices get revised first where they are likely to make savings.

How pathetic and so telling of the management that SAVINGS come first...

You've been had over mate as that is bull, what comes out of a revision comes out of a revision.
You can not personally keep a set day off if your office has a revision and the duty changes.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
