Big call for the Postal Executive

Next Wednesdays the Postal Executive will meet to discuss its next steps. Royal Mail have not met the demands which the Union made on colleague share , the BTA agreement and the fact that they have just rejected the Union"s alternative propostion for London and have said they will push ahead with their plan which will result in complusory redundancies in Royal Mail for the first time. By the ways it is not only the union saying this but an independent consultants report has also included this.

So what decision would you like to see the Postal Executive make ? Sensible answers only please. Remember most on here have a view and have criticised various aspects of the agreement , so what decisons would you want the Postal Executive to make ?

Immediate ballot for Industrial Action, what other choice is there, RM has let us all down on the colleagueshares, how can people who leave get £1400 and people who stay get nothing, f***in joke!

As you know yourself dingo,there is a lot of work to do to engage the membership before any big calls can be made but the first and obvious one is whether BTA has anything left to offer at all.
Secondly the question has to be asked....who is now running the company...the board or the government because we have to know exactly what we are up against.
Thirdly a decision has to be made if IA is the answer should it be started in some of the stronger areas and built up or should an immediate national ballot be called for...either has it's risks.

It says "or via new format" what is there to stop RML just shafting us all over again? Basic pay should be the only new format we will entertain!!!No catches, no having to do this, that and the other. Weve done our part in making RM a leaner meaner company for the purpose of CS.

Withdraw of all coperation with revisions/WCM/Savings if RM dont play ball is good and I fully suport that. Let the big wide world see just how competent RM are without input from the rank and file!

Get a return to outdoor revisions for delivery offices based on visual reality and not computer programes, the CWU love in with RML on computer revison tools has to end!!!


If a IA ballot is called then Dave and PEC need to be very clear as to the objectives and supply info/evidence that our objectives are realistic and achiveable. Whatever the rights and wrongs of BT2010 it certainly wasnt what mbrs were expecting. We need a solution that will gain and retain real majority support.

Are RM breaking the terms of the 2010 agreement? It sounds like it. If so, where do we stand with getting ACAS involved again?

I can't see the general public being sympathetic to their postie striking over a £700 (pro rata) bonus he may or may not be entitled to.
The issue of job security and pensions will probably be understood by fellow public service employees.

The total failure of the delivery methods revisions will be understood by the general public that have already suffered by this strand of modernisation.
We embraced modernisation. They f****d it up. How can Higson keep his job?

RM will continue to steamroll their improvements through with or without our blessing.
The only way to stop them is by IA. Nothing else will work and to have public support, it
must not be IA over colleague shares but compulsory redundancy that RM said would not happen.
Clash also mentioned pensions and I have to agree as I am very uneasy about any government taking
over my pension let alone these idiots in control now.

IA 100%! I couldn't care less whether we have the support of the thick as s**t British public or not. This country has gone worryingly right wing in the last few years, and the "great" British public never seem to support any kind of IA. You've only got to look at the RMT as one example. They get slagged of left, right and centre by the public every time they call their members out.

We need a series of hard hitting national strikes for as long as it takes. The CWU has got to stop fannying around and be brave. All the tossers on here who say they won't strike are lower than a snake's belly anyway!

I dont think a call for industrial action would be a good idea because I dont think the public would support us and not sure how many members would support a strike. Why dont offices stop doing revisions? Why should royal mail honour their end of the deal when they're still getting what they want out of it?

Stopping CWU/member input into the revisions is exactly what Royal Mail wants.
You would still get screwed with the revisions....but they would be enforced,not agreed.
