it is still going ahead, the business hasn't made the savings it expected but it's tol late to turn back. Phase 1 came in our office this week.

We're still going to be using the vans, al la P&L but our delivery spans have been replanned from 4.5hrs down to 3.5hrs 
Someone has finally twigged that you can't get 3hrs prep, travelling time, breaks, van checks + a 4.5hr delivery into 7.48hrs. It did take several local offices completely failing (and a lot more nationally) for those above to realise it though

so basiclly... as they (RMG) did with Pegasus...
they come up with what seems like a great idea for them and way for them to save money...
force it through the union and into local areas...
re-plan delivery duties at unachievable walking speeds, and/or driving speeds
and then... figure out that it isnt going to work and is actually going to cost them more money in overtime (not to mention consulant fees)
and in this case...spend millions of pounds to buy golf trolleys, and small vans... that now are not going to see widespread use
leaving RM with hundreds of surplus vans that are not even suitable for the way we work before all this sh*t... not to mention all the stupid little trolleys... that are branded "Royal Mail" so they cant even be sold on without money being spent on them...
