Unpaid Leave
Is it right that the powes that be in the Lothians have decreed that there is no unpaid leave allowed except in circunstances such as a death in the family? I usually take two weeks unpaid leave a year tagged onto my annual leave as my husband works in Saudi and I only get to see him every 15 weeks, I give my DOM at least four months notice for each week of unpaid leave and yesterday he informed me that the 2 days unpaid leave I requested for April will not be allowed under these new rules (even though he had been aware of it since Jan) I now have to try to see if I can swop my days off /leave and to top it all he is making me take 3 lieu days next week when I dont want to !!!!!! He says we cant carry them over when I know we can !!!!!!!!!!!

Doesn't sound right,i'd get your area rep on to it.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

a similiar situation with me.....i have applied for one weeks special leave to go and do some charity work......have done so for the past four years....my dom said to me when i handed him the form "you've no chance"
So i am going to fight it and if so will apply for unpaid leave.....
