Contracted hours Increase ??

Hi I've been with RM for 18 months now on a 22.5 hour contract, over the last 18 months i have worked out that i have been working on average 34-42 hours a week, could anyone tell me if RM are obliged to increase my contracted hours? i have been promised an increase in hours for some time but this obviously never happens

No they don't 'have' to increase your hrs even though you work over your contracted hrs a lot.
Please please please don't rely on management promises.

Have you had your BT2010 revisions yet,that sometimes throws out extra hrs for part timers.

we haven't yet, not sure when that is happening, i was recently told that if i signed for an evening duty my hours would be increased to 27, i signed for it thinking that a few more hours is better than nothing, when i asked about the increase in contract a few weeks after signing for the duty i was told by the dom that he had made a mistake and it could'nt be increased.

I am on a 25 hour contract and applied for PHG locker duty which i was doing anyway.DOM said i would get a 40 hour contract,that was 11/02/2010 Im still waiting for it over a year later.Cwu involved but its taking forever.I am going to pursue it all the way because i was promised the contract and they have not kept their promise

Am I wrong in thinking that holiday pay entitlement (at least) should be based on average hours worked as apposed to contracted hours?

Should be,would be,could be...if you want to fight for it.. right through to ET stage.
It's not an automatic right and you usually have to show that the overtime was necessary to your contract,not voluntary...but if you're up for the fight...good luck.

They have got u by the b.....cks pt=longer hrs when they need you to do them,holiday pay based on pt hrs etc.... 1 job 40hrs per week , 2 jobs 20hrs per week =2 people off the goverments unemployed figures list,say no more thats all that matters.whether the job gets done properly doesnt matter any more,..... :vcfo
