Isnt it strange when you keep asking do,s what was the volume every day they wont give it ,now they are also saying in an average box of mail is 150

Given up on the lies damn lies about mail volumes.
Its convenient to say volumes are down..But are they? REALLY?
I know what my view is

Keep going at the do,s EVERY DAY that you want a print out of the mail volume for the day (which they are obliged to give ),i count my mail every day again the dont like it .The figures dont add up , they say 150 a box , our count is around 320 a box

Honestly i would assume mail is down but probably not as much as they try to sell us. The problem is letters are down but i wonder what the volumes are like for door to doors and parcels / packets?!

Any supposed decrease in mail volumes is nothing compared to the (very real) decrease in staff volumes.

Mondays and Tuesdays are BRILLIANT in our DO . Join the 2 days together and its still LESS than a normal day .

IMO mail IS down but wether its as much as they are saying i dont know.

Personally. I think that (based on what I see every day) the amount of Mail we get directly from Customers, is consistently declining. But we still deal with it as DSA. Perhaps when they go on about falling volumes, they're talking about the work we get fully paid for (rather than just getting DSA payments for).

I will say its hard to judge on the floor as the rounds and dp's have increased so you are personally getting much more mail in total

However i do rem from about 15 years back when they kept saying mail was down year in year out and we were losing 1 million a day Then came the "way forward" and they admitted mail had doubled in the past ten years and then we were making 1m a day

So i kinda dont trust their figures

Precisely.
The supposed 10% fall in mail volume, and the all-too-real 40% drop in the number of front-line troops. Royal Mail at it's most ridiculous.

The other question is that if there is a questionable decline in mail, this may have an impact on indoor work time, but is unnoticeable for outdoor work, as we still have to deliver to the same number of houses, and in fact more houses as the housing stock is increased. If there is a 10% reduction in mail, this does not mean a 10% reduction in the houses we deliver to.

I'm sure they make the figures up. In my opinion theres more mail than ever ...trays so full you can barely prise the letters out, flats piled so high you cant even get to some of the low pigeon holes and 8 yorks of packets before the lorry's even turned up!
The only decline is in proper hand written letters.

we had a new manager in yesterday one that is up the higher managers arses no one likes him not even the managers anyway yesterday he was running the show on his own and we had just 15k and in our office we have 50 walks. today we had 76k which is normal for a friday.

I have never trusted the figures they pump out,they say we have lossed mail tO OUR rivals .No we havent we still deliver the final mile ,we have lost the revenue .
