We haven't got red ones anymore. Our DOM has a huge bag of similarly sized 'normal' bands in the office safe, which he will give out if you ask nicely. The onlt thing on the office floor we can help ourselves to is P739 cards. Everything else is under lock and key.

Last week i was allowed into the treasured chamber of secrets which is our store room to get myself a couple of new bags. Whilst in there i noticed about 50 or so of the old brown rubber bands, which i took

They were a joy to use, so much more stretchy, i used them for 3 days in a row and not one snapped . Bet they will be nicked when i go in on monday.

its a complete non story 2,000,000 rubber bands a day and 160,000 RM employees = 12.5 rubber bands a day -

and £5,000,000 over 5 years = £6.25 a year for each employee or 14p a week - 2-3p a day.

the reason that the cost has increased is they buy cheap sh*t bands that we end up using more of... as everyone else has said.
i know that we were at one point having to triple band evey bundle as if they didnt snap and ping off when you were bundeling the mail... then they would ping when the bundles were in your pouch... or when you lifted them out...

the bands were so crap i ended up with them snapping against my "sensative" man parts on more than a few occasions... very painful... and not very comfortable being hudled over your bench in pain...

just read a news article bbc news http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-12518196" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; dated 20th february saying red rubber bands being dropped are an eyesore and needs to be stopped by reducing the amount purchased by Royal Mail. however i like the line "The Royal Mail says the bands are necessary and that they use biodegradable ones.

if according to moya in the courier this month mail is down and is continually decreasing why are we spending more on rubber bands it does not add up could management be lying to us?
