I keep hearing about park and loop failing all over the country, are's keeps getting pushed back should have happened nov last year, now god knows when its going to happen, an office near to ours has being postponed indefinitely, do you think royal mail will re-think there strategy and kick this idea to touch???

Don't think RM are going to give up on it Donut. Too much loss of face. Several local offices I've visited seems to be the ones that say, "No we want the Revision done properly, Tested etc..." are the ones that keep getting postponed. The offices full of selfish bastards that don't stick together, and just give it, "I'm alright I'll just agree.." they seem to be the ones that have got the P & L up and running (although not working)

Really funny though when there's loads of vans and the DIM says, "No need to use the bike you can have a van today!"

It is pathetic idea as high fuel cost will hit the budget too much. ie it cost a tenner more in petrol to fill up the tank than it was in summer.

On an average weight day we need to get out of the office at 08.55 to clear for finishing time . So it's worked about 8 times since introduction in early December . We only use the trolleys on heavy days ( 16 loops for the 2 duties ) . On medium to light days we move from street to street parking in the middle and spliting that streets mail into 2 so creating up to 30 mini loops . So off we go usually with one bundle in your arm , at the most 1.5 bundles . No bag and no trolley , brilliant . The first one back to the van deals with the larger packets for that street , then off we go to the next .

We work a lot harder than pre revision and don't have as much time for the customers who sadly still think we have time for a little chat . Customers look surprised when you tell them you have to crack on . We work over if we want to , which is the majority of times but if we can't be bothered we cut off , mainly on Saturdays or if the weather is really bad . This is as good as it's going to be from now on , unless they make our duties smaller .

Last week we filled in some type of questionnaire on each duty listing steps , steep slopes and farm gates so it looks like some replan is in the works . We highlighted about 130 properties on the 2 duties . I won't get to optomistic because our duties could come back larger .

I must be missing something here skull...
"Allowed to go"....does that mean that management are encouraging members to leave the office early and increase the delivery span beyond what was agreed in the revision...just to achieve the unachievable?
I have to ask....what's in it for you guys?...apart from the obvious long term health problems.

Our 32 hr contract posties have been doing overtime and starting at 06.30 but next week they have been told they are back to 07.45 starts so the office might start to fall apart again . So nobody knows what time we will be getting out next week .

I think the point trying to be made is.
You should have a 318 saying what time you are due to leave the office in order to complete your del span.
EG, leave office 10am start del 10-20 4hour 20min del back to office 15-00 day done.

Allthough most offices stagger the breaks as not everyone can get into the canteen at the same time

Yes the managers know the job is unacheivable so as soon as ips and the missorts are clear we can go . Yesterday we were out 5hrs 20mins knocking breaks off our 2 duties took 4 hrs 40 mins . Regarding health problems , carrying heavy bags and pulling heavy trolleys I agree but when we split our duties into mini loops it couldn't be healthier , no weight and no twisting pulling trolleys . IF a doctor enquired about how I kept myself fit and I told him I walked between 4hrs and 5.5 hrs 5 days a week I think he would be pleased . Being out of the office is the part of the job I enjoy and I have always kept myself fit , so getting paid to keep myself fit is even better .

It's tragic to see the demise of Rm but to be paid for keeping myself fit is still one positive I can hold on to . Sorry about mentioning positive on this forum .
