overtime in failing offices

just like to get an impression of how many are doing overtime in offices with failing revisions in our office who went live before christmas everyone worked like f*ck to make it happen buyt the wagons just kept rolling in and everyone 80-90% of staff now sayu f/o when asked if they want to work there day off or do extra duties!.

if it the same at your office? hence mega backlogs!

Our office just about kept going through December due to people working overtime , In the last couple of weeks there as been a big change and even staff who have probably never turned down overtime in their life are now doing so . I gave up at the end of December and feel the better for it .

Only a few in our office did OT to try complete their duties, but have now said enough is enough . So next week management have decided to force in a 4 day week (supposedly as a trial ) , which just goes to show that the new walk spans need 10hrs to complete instead of 8. I for one am not in favour .

No consultation with the staff, no meetings with anyone. Apparently it's just a "trial" till we clear the back log, and then see where we are with actual traffic

i have worked a 4 day week for just over a year now as is suits me.
however it works on a principle of working 4 days delivering 6 days mail and getting paid for 5, i dont mind the odd half hour OT but always reserve the right to cut off and i have done constantly in dec & jan as its just impossible to complete.
in the end it will make little or no difference as your hours remain the same, infact for full timers it will probably make it worse as after working a 10 hr shift OT is defo out of the question.
still if it works on the computer..................

We have no rep, he quit after the revision was signed off . Mentioned it to one of the area reps and he seemed to think it was a great idea "cos every 3wks you get 5 days off" . As for the office, it's divided some want it some don't.

If you want it it's a fantastic shift pattern especially for the days off,if you don't want it then it's a killer.
There should of at least been a vote of some sort,you may get lucky and like it and then able to keep it.

But,seems a bit naughty that it's just being thrown in.And by what you're saying at least that the ADR didn't get more involved.

I DONT DO ANY BUT I NO THAT THE SECTION IN MY OFFICE AFTER THE REVISION IS PUTING IN A EXTRA 100 TO 150 HOURS A WEEK AND STILL NOT CLEARING EVERYTHING
