Is your office looking like its going to be a massive fail???

Maybe due to lack of staff and poor weather. And revision being brought in before xmas(blame the dom)

Looks like a massive fail of epic proportions to me

not sure about elsewhere in the country, but here in Manchester, (from what lorry drivers have told me) there has been a massive shortage of York containers,
creating a huge backlog of mail because it can't be distributed.
i got told of 18 wheeler lorries being sent out with 20-25 yorks of mail when they can take 50, leaving shed loads of mail behind because of no yorks to put them on,
normally, i think RM start stockpiling the yorks at mail centres just prior to xmas (someone correct me if i'm wrong), seems someone forgot this year

I think the equipment shortages are probably the same all round the country, a lot of the mail seems to be being sent in cardboard RSCs as there is nothing else to put it in.

My office is going pretty well at the minute, mostly clear except for some packets but they should be cleared by Christmas.

In our DO, we have more yorks being used to sort the large packets for the vanshare jobs and only one section out of three has been done so far, so more yorks will stay in DO's in the future.

I doubt we will clear, it was a bit touch & go last year they even drafted in senior managers to help. Can't see that happening this year.

our a/l is stopped till week AFTER xmas.
and no i dont think ours will but with all the overtime going in it probably will JUST !

Last week Id have said no, this week I think it will.

But thats not taking into account the bad weather due to hit us at the end of the week.

If that seriously affects delivery then we're screwed.

More than one. I think some like to believe the whole system is on its knees then as if by magic, everything clears. Christmas is always busy at the best of times.

they will just throw o/t at it and then it will start to clear like our office 2 hours work for 4 hours pay even more going in dundee east do

Told today that Artic Lorries shipping mail fron Doncaster MC to Peterborough because Doncster is totally unable to cope. Anyone working at Doncaster MC can shed any light. Supposed to be the busiest day today but because of above problems we have received smidgeons of mail. More like a summers day mailing.
