christmas day off
rumour going round my office is that next week they will be changing everyones day off to saturday so everyone works their 40 hour week ,can they do this at such short notice ,what happens the following week when new years day is saturday.

I only realised the other day that Xmas Day is my "long weekend off," been doing six day weeks for almost two months and I lost track, so I will get a lieu day credit for the Bank Holiday Monday.
However, Xmas Day is a discriminatory deal in my eyes... How can I get no pay for what is my day off, while those that were schedule to work Xmas Day get the day off and get paid for it? Sorry, that is just plain wrong!

we were told that because there is a no clawback deal there will be "winners and losers"!!!!!so no they cannot change your day off but some people will work longer hours or more days than others.it is what we call tough s**t.and before you have a go at me i will lose out twice.

They've done that at our office. And they made us work our rotating day off this week, although I eventually managed to get a day off albeit a different day than what it should have been. Anyone whose day off is any day from Monday to Friday as there is no claw back for them.
However by eradicating claw back a unequal situation has been created as Saturday off OPG's will in effect have a 1 day longer working year than somebody with the same leave entitlement (pre purchased) having a weekday off without any extra pay.
Of course we could reinstate clawback and all be equal again.
