Van share!

Post by bunkerland »

Van sharing hasn't come to our office yet but just wondered, for the offices that have it,has anyone been stuck with someone they really don't get on with? I like to think i can get on with anyone but i guess it's inevitable that some people just aren't going to be "your cup of tea". :cuppa

There's two i can think of at my work i would dread to be sharing anything with. One's probably the grumpiest person i've ever met,he permanently has an expression like a bulldog licking piss off a nettle and i haven't spoken to him for about four years :silenced ,nor has 90% of the office. The other just complains nonstop from the moment he comes in to the moment he leaves. I honestly don't know what i'd do if i had to spend most of my working day with either!

Has anyone got the partner from hell(i'm talking about work)and what would you do if you did? :hmmmm

You'll not be in the van all day with them only travelling from point to point. Just enjoy the time you're on your own and wear earphones for the times you're not

If you want to know more about park and loop theres more info in the 2010 and beyond link ( http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... m.php?f=42" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ) just scroll down to the topics section .

I started van share on monday and the person I work with is spot on ,so lucky there . If we are given more realistic sized dutys it will work very well but at the moment there is no chance in completing on time . The light weight trolleys are a good idea , getting the weight off your back but they do slow you down . All them little short cuts you can't take anymore because you have to keep going back for your trolley after every couple of drops .

Hello all ...... Sorry not got back to anyone who may have been interested in my progress ,as you may guess I have been to KNACKERED to even get round to remembering to go on this site..... sad me or what ? ,
Just like to say Van share is fine with me , with the other Posties , you have to get on together with your work ,discuss the work load of the day have a little natter and put in a bit of humour in, as you need to laugh about something, no good if you cannot do this as it can upset your day ,as over heard from some people who cannot work together , BUT the work load is totally over the top , draining us ,so when you get home .... That's it your Knackered ,body had enough, it has become a Marathon everyday , I thought it was my age but even the younger posties say the same thing !!!!..... Years ago when first started we use to get mentally tired because of the early start ,but you knew what you was taking on with the early start ,now it's physically draining our body with such a workload everyday and as for finishing late especially at the weekend of which is ruin because of being drained to enjoy, working for the Royal Mail was enjoyable but not now, .... you could say give it up , but after so many years thats not easy and certainly not what I was doing years ago riding a bike and delivering the letters and saying good morning to the customers and now don't have time for customer caring bit .... oh well I could go on and on ..... Zzzzzzzzz ...... bye :wave

I am a leave reserve now due to the revision so on a different walk every week sometimes a few a week, and to be honest most people which i thought were not my cup o tea have turned out to be better than i thought had some real laughs with certain people i know the rounds don't work but when you are like me and work to your time it's like a licence to cut off, everyone takes the piss out of me coz i turn a 2 man job into a 3 man and on a couple of occasions a 4 man job not proud of it but its just the way things are here
when i am king you will be first against the wall
with your opinions which are of no consequence at all
anyway im cutting off
