Sky Mags

Dunno about you peeps, but we've had three different "flavours" of Sky Mag this week - a smallish one, a largeish one and a 3D one - and a lot of 'em too

(Good news for my home postie though - we've just cancelled our Sky - and since joining RM and finding out about the English Heritage corporate thingy, we left the National Trust as well )

Sky will still carry on sending you the bloody magazine!! They did with my ex for about 18 months... until we moved house.

We've got sky and have never had a mag. Dunno if we opted out, we certainly used to get it, but I don't recall opting out. Still, a postie cannot really complain. Sky's mags are giving us work, and unlike some of the others they are reasonably light and reasonably small, therefore easy to incorporate into bundles. Plus, they're always there on a Monday so you can get them done before the work picks up. Or else you can do them over a few days. This is not the same as with certain other stupid magazines that are ginormous, come in their hundreds, and have to be done on the double.

Are you for real? you must have it pretty cushy in your office..! I've got 600+ calls - 3/4 of them must be Sky subscibers and they all get a Mag, which believe me ain't easy to corporate into easy bundles my friend. Plus in our office we get the joy of delivering them the same day they come in and that is never a Monday in our place.

The sooner Sky do an e-Mag the better my back will be for it.....

If everyone starts doing an e-mag, the only thing anyone will need is an e-postie. I too have 600 calls and circa 300 sky mags, but they get done and I don't mind because every now and again I get 20/30/40 saga mags - I'd swap the lot for sky mags every single time.

One handy point today though during the five hours of incessant rain I walked through ... they were fairly useful in keeping a lot of the rain off the rest of the bundles

But why oh why do delivery bags have little "holes" in the bottom - every time I put the bag down to transfer stuff from the pouch boxes, the water just leeched in ... and even when just dropping a pouch bag into big bag (sorry squeezing an overweight pouch bag into big bag ) it just soaked straight through - the "Ricky Tomlinson D2D" just turned into papier mache - any tips ?

If everyone starts doing an e-mag, the only thing anyone will need is an e-postie. I too have 600 calls and circa 300 sky mags, but they get done and I don't mind because every now and again I get 20/30/40 saga mags - I'd swap the lot for sky mags every single time.

oh Lord, the saga books the average age of my customers must be about 83 and 1/2 - I get a lot of them, sometimes they're so thick they don't even fit in the letter box - I'd have Sky mags any day rather than the saga ! ! !

Tuesday - together with several others (Saga, Caravan Club, Screwfix, Studio Cards, National Trust - all biggies). When I couldn't see the frame I stopped throwing them in ) Was only told to "spread out" the Skys - what's the score with other stuff - does it depend on what's in the top right-hand corner or what ?

It must cost Sky a ton the print off all that crap and pay for it to be delivered. Considering that their only real selling point now is the sports channels since freeview came along you'd think they'd be looking at making savings by putting the mags online or something.

The advertisers pay for the magazine (and there was something about getting a tax break on them) anyway, it gives us more to deliver no matter how much we hate doing them.

although sky mags are a bitch to deliver i'm not gonner complain about them whilst they use 2nd class post/mailsort to deliver them, if/when they switch to dsa then I will moan, we need the business.
