cars on delivery

Hi, all, we took the step of stopping cars on delivery yesterday, it has been a great success. The managers have been going round with their heads up their ass. They said we can't use our cars ever again! Good stuff is whatI say!!!!!!!!!

I'm hoping it doesn't come to that but if they bypass the union again and bring in a 6:15am start then I will encourage all in my office to do the same.

Do you think that maybe you should do this BEFORE they bring in early starts, let them have the headache now!

No I don't think I should stop using my car. They plan on starting later shifts on August the 13th and I will voice my opinions before that date when plans are officially expressed to the staff.

I see no problem with using my own car on delivery and I doubt my insurance company will give me a refund for the extra business insurance if I don't use it.
The time and effort I save is worth it to me and I'd be happy to swap 30 minutes pay each day for a 30 minutes 'driving allowance'.
Doing the job the hard way is foolish. It may guarantee your work longer but it won't guarantee you more work.

I use my car so I benefit not RM, bloody cycling and carting packets around

In our office they did away with two driving duties and cut the hours of other driving duties. For two days in June, no one used their car and there were not enough vans or drivers to cope. Using your car might save you time, but it's kept at least two lads on the dole where I live.

I wish that happened in our ofice but we get most part timers 6:15 start coming in at 5 to 530 and the most people who go out in the van our still using there cars.

I reckon it costs between Â£15 andÂ£20 per week to use your car on del. Royal Mail are laughing all the way to the bank I wish we had done it ages ago. If you are unable to do the job because of packets etc or time constraints give the problem to your manager let him make the decision.

here here thats what they are paid huge bonuses for

the guys who use there cars every day are the same guys moaning about losing a days pay

this has got to be one of the daftest post's ive seen on here!you are carving the job up,read the post's on here where offices are doing the job properly taking meal reliefs,no cars etc it is causing rm untold headaches.its ok to strike and lose a day's pay but then ok to come back into the backlog and load 6/7 bags of mail into your boot and use your car?you are not helping the job one bit you should be ashamed of your selfish attitude!
