CAN ANYBODY HELP IVE 20YRS SERVICE THIS DECEMBER 40 HR CONTRACT ANYBODY GOT A THUMBRULE WHAT THE MINIMUM AMOUNT WOULD BE. PS IM 53YRS YOUNG. PLEASE BE KIND

Not for EVR unfortunately just buy down hours, but am still looking for an EVR one.

Got a ready reckoner from somewhere and if I read it right you should get 95.63 weeks pay for EVR - I may be wrong though. So just short of 2 years basic pay but check with management its not very clear in the reckoner

Hi Ulsterpostie,you're about same as me,22 years and age 52.Max you can get is 102 weeks pay,plus this that and the other depending on your basic,it works out at ROUGHLY 30 GRAND.hope that helps

We had one guy leave our office recently, he had 20years service, and left with approx Â£28k. But, it took him months to get out, because they had to split his duty, at near enough nil cost to the office. So i just hope you're office can get it sorted quickly for you.

Regarding VR terms under MTSF - they are different for over 50's (who are members of the pension scheme).

For under 50's and over 60's - it's a calculation of so many weeks for so many years - with a minimum of six months pay up to a max of two years. (104 weeks)

For over 50's the VR compensation is six months pay (26 weeks) - full stop!

However over 50's also get immediate payment of pensions and benefits enhanced by up to 6 2/3rd years service.

In plain english this means that someone say age 53 with 30 years service would get a pension and lump sum paid as if they had 39 2/3rd years service.

There are problems with people in the 50-54 age bracket getting these terms if there are more volunteers than VR's - they are often offered inferior terms under TMA. (but that is another story!!)

Hope this makes sense and helps you out. At the end of the day I would always advise anyone to speak to thier local CWU expert - there should be one somewhere.
