CWU to STOP funding Labour

In light of P.M. Gordon Browns comment that postal workers should accept a below inflation 2.5% pay rise ( no mention of the strings though ! ), should the CWU executive call an emergency metting to give US the members a vote on whether we want to continue supporting the LABOUR party

The labour party is Â£16M in the RED.......

We ( CWU ) are the BIGGEST single donator to the party

The time to call in the favour is NOW !

You can't blame AL & AC for the way they think.....they only want no max out the profits at any cost....thats their job....

The CWU's job is to counteract their inbuilt GREED to protect the working man !

They ( the CWU ) should be willing to shift their stance of supporting the Labour Party if they are not giving value for money
after all, it's YOUR MONEY the CWU is spending on political parties....

Or am I wrong ?

I would vote for NO to funding the labour party,they aint worth a toss and will not be getting my vote in the next general election.

I have always voted LABOUR, I grew up in the 70 / 80's an seen at first hand what MAGGIE done to my SCHOOL / JOB PROSPECTS etc. I always wished that Labour would get in to power to correct the mistakes made by the TORYS, but now in light of the way I feel I'mm being treated by the Labour Gov. I just don't know who I should vote for in the next ELECTION....

I know its wrong...but I almost hope that LABOUR get kicked out.....Just to teach them a lesson....I feel my support is being taken for granted now

Should I vote 'GULP' Tory......and Kick out Gordon Blair ?

Money should be withdrawn and put into a national advertising campaign. Unions such as RMT and FBU haven't looked back since withdrawing money!!

Advert is toms papers is a good one. Short, bright and to the point

That for me, is the final straw. As far as I'm concerned the link between our union and what now passes
for the Labour Party, should be severed , as soon as possible. The CWU is only throwing good money after bad at that
bunch of Conservative clowns. We'd get just as much joy throwing the money at Cameron's bunch of upperclass buffoons.

Im sure there is a form available from CWU if you want to withdraw the political levy from an individuals union sub.

There is Tony. I would also like to see 'The Voice' being stopped from turning into a Labour Party election leaflet every couple of years just because they imagine we're all Labour Voters.

Now we know where we stand with Brown and the labour party.Quite frankly his comments dont suprise me in the slightest,it was this labour administration who appointed leighton and crozier to their posts in the first place.

With one or two notable exceptions, this government is made up of careerist timeservers happily toeing the Blair/Brown party line - Thatcherism by any other name - in order to continue riding the gravy train. They have no intention of furthering the interests of the working class, and yet trade unions continue to support them. As deadbox points out, the CWU is one of Labourâ€™s biggest funders.
