i have just been signed off work with anxiety this week for 2 weeks got a special letter this morning from dom asking me to attend a sick absence interview tomorrow ive only been off for 4 days so far is this normal procedure and are you obligrd to attend.

you can request (via your rep - or better still in writing - keep a copy of the letter signed and dated), to have the "interview" done over the phone.
the DOM may be concerned if it is work related issiues that are the cause of the anxiety...and if it is...by law, you have to tell your employer why the business is causing you stress - so they can tackle the cause of stress.

or you could ask the dom to come to your house, but you don't have to let them in, just do the interview on the doorstep.

well basically just rang dom told him i wasnt happy about going in and he basically insisted that i go in there was no offer of over the phone interview.if my doctor has signed me away from work for 2 weeks shouldnt this be dealt with after that time.looking after my wellbeing lol

You don't have to attend the interview or even have a phone interview if you are not feeling up to it.
It is however in your best interests to maintain some kind of contact with your DOM.
The least stressful way to do this is in writing and keep copies of everything and a diary of any phone calls made to you.
Just a simple note stating your intention to follow the advice of your doctor and that you will inform them of any change in your circumstances....that way there will be no need for phone calls or interviews or any of that bullsh*t.
Take your time and make sure you're 100% before you go back.

whats baffling me is that our office has been well screwed up of late we have got through doms like nobodys business and the interview that i have is not with the dom thats there now but one from another office a bit higher up the chain i think.what do you think?i really dont feel happy about going in rang cwu earlier as well and the area rep said when i asked him why they dont do it over the phone "they like to see you face to face so its a bit more private"why did he not mention if your not upto it dont go like fishtank said.

They wouldn't get much joy from me, mind. Too bloody minded, me. When I'm sick and unable to work, I'm too sick and unable to work, end of conversation.

I wonder if they'd get you in if you were lying in hospital, Just imagine waking up to see a letter from RM asking to go in for a interview. Or just out of a coma, probably drive you back into one.

I was off for a day sick in april and had dom and line manager pay me a visit to make sure i was in.
Wife was going to tell them to feck off. But i j ust went and told them that i would like a grievance form when i got back to work never got any bother after that.

When I had an accident on the way to work they sent a van to pick me up from A & E because they had no one to cover the late Callers duty. They did'nt seem bothered that I had road rash down one side, cuts/bruises and broken knuckles. They did let me off the 3 hours I was late though

I was in the garden, on rehab, and there's someone at my door.

TWO managers, one on the mobile, pretending to be phoning me - apparently, there's no signal anywhere in the World, except for outside of my front door...

This is bordering on Harassment, so, yes, they DO make "House Calls" !
