I know that we are supposed to be allowed the use of the managers computer when they are not using them to perform CWU business,
What I was wanting to know though is do we have to do all our union work in our own time after forfilling our contracted hours, or should we be allocated time to write and print of disagreements etc.
Someone had mentioned that if you are spending time preforming union duties then this time should form part of your duty,
they said they had read it somewhere on this site possibly a legal document, so was hoping that someone with the know from this site can help point me in the right direction.
Many many THANKS

Re: Who's time for writing disagreements
Your Dom should give you release time from your normal duty to carry out union business. This could be release from IPS and prep to release from your delivery which could be performed by another colleague on overtime.Get in touch with your area rep and ask advice from them and speak with your Dom about how you will sort these issues out.

Re: Who's time for writing disagreements
ON a similar thing I have wondered about - If for example a manager takes me off a walk because of argument about lapsing/redirections/excess/he picks on me etc. and he sticks me on the IPS for the next 7 hours - can I sit down at IPS fitting and spend the next few hours composing my grievance form or do I have to stew all day and then right the form out in the evening in my own time ?

Re: Who's time for writing disagreements
I would also like to know the answer about release time as the managers give no release time for anything like to put in disagreements etc, very lucky if we get any release for resource meetings.
Raising these issuses higher does not help either as RM do what they want
manager thinks all other work is done at home in our own time

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I think you need to contact your ADR and get some time sorted.gerardy wrote:I would also like to know the answer about release time as the managers give no release time for anything like to put in disagreements etc, very lucky if we get any release for resource meetings.
