MC CLOSURES 2012

Dont believe the hype. Work in a MC/DO due to close 2012. Builders have been in for a few weeks making everything new! Processing staff been told they will have 1 to 1s in october with regards to moving MC. Looked on google earth & our site, full of red vans is now listed as staples direct. So if your due for closure beware....... Its coming sooner than you might think.

No choice but to say outright. Doncaster. Look on google maps using DN4 5NE.It used to say RM. Had doors replaced, toilets fixed, walls renewed, drains dug up etc. You dont do that a year & half in advance. Yet we still have a notice up saying the union are in talks with RM about alternative plans! No doubt about how long they can wait before telling all it is closed.

Ah yes the CWU and the Union having talks - well that really is the scenario of RM telling them when it is shutting and giving them time to make it into a palatable tale as to how they managed to snatch defeat again but it's all your fault!

its happening all over the country bruv, no turning back now, Reading and Oxford MCs closed last year and relocated to Swindon

That's if they keep the missort run.....................some posters on here reckon they've dropped theirs, ours in still running in some places. Having seen what was left on the sorting frame from the missort run and internal missorts they may as well not bother.

Are you sure it was To Let and not an indication of the state of your workplace?

Lots of delivery units and mail centres have got a google tag for a random business or organisation.

For example, Leeds Mail Centre is tagged as UK Insurance - the proposals in the NE mail centre review have got York and Bradford closing and moving to Leeds.

Not saying that Doncaster isn't going to close - if it's in the 'proposal' it's pretty much already decided - just saying that you're unlikely to get paid your ETE in Post-it notes due to a Staples land-grab!

If Royal Mail get these MC closures wrong,it could cost them the business. One thing is for sure,quality of service is going to go right down the toilet.

Looks like RM are going right down the pan....what with Toilet signs and Swimming Pools, do the French own the Pissing, sorry Piscine

Our place is going to be demolished so RM have upgraded all the alarm system, converted and decorated various rooms. I guess they can up the price for all the extras when they sell.
