Three large vans all with big scrapes(what is it about hightops?) down each side,along with a selection of cuts and bruises. Quite a few smaller vans with some sort of damage too. Then when you walk out the yard past all the posties cars,they all seem to be undamaged Do our personalities change when we drive for Royal Mail,or are the radios just harder to adjust when you're driving and holding your next bundle at the same time?
The vans in my office are driven like they are in a rally, I personally don't see the need to speed around and drive like a maniac............all that you get is extra work so obey speed limits anddrive safely and you shouldn't have to worry about it.

is hull cdo still one of the worst vans cleaner on the outside than inside and don't stop till you hear the sound of breaking glass whilst reversing roll on the shared vans it'll be like bumper cars in the morning
I'm surprised our vans last as long as they do. Saw one of ours on two wheels once as the driver roared around a corner. They don't half get some hammer.
I think it all depends on how old the vans are...there is a LDV van which is 8 years old has the usual scrapes and little knocks and has a mileage of about 100,000.
The reason for keeping that van for so long as it was bought out right before leasing took over.
We are a 50/50 rural/town mix in our office and even have guys down to see why our vans fall apart so quick,we have to point out to them that on most of the rurals the van has go up farm tracks and rough drives six times a week and what do the owners of said track drive ?,yep a Land Rover not a poor old plumbers van.
We were promised a go with the Ford Ranger but that never materialised so we continue bumping and clunking up and down with shocks going,door frames cracking and trim and various bits giving up along the way.
There is one very small dent on the rear wing of my Combo which i did when i hit a bin about 2 years ago. The rest of the dings and dents which cover the van was caused by the afternoon drivers who use it as a bloody dodgem car
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........
My Uncle used to have a pink one of these. It got called the Plastic Pig. The front edges used to touch the floor when he went around corners and you'd still be facing forwards when the car had turned. Probably says more about his driving than the car but hey.
He once reversed it, ever so slightly, into someone's car who was staying with the neighbour. They had a big American thing. Nearly wrote his car off, not a scratch on theirs.
Anyhoo, completely agree with the rural vans being completely unfit for purpose. If you said you had to drive slowly because of the condition of the road, you'd probably be taken down conduct for taking too long. Then they'd probably write to the person at the address concerned and tell them to make alternative arrangements.
